Hanging out at suppestegogis with the family after a visit to the library - they have really good ices in copious servings (suppestegogis that is, not the library). I took the oportunity to do a sketch.

Dyrehaven

Spent the afternoon at Dyrehaven - Aarhus Deer Park - with R and my sketchkit today.

 
 

Absolutely perfect weather. The does were all either fit to burst or already nursing young kids. The males were busy growing their antlers - in a couple of months there will be fighting.

Summer colour

I had a visit from Anette yesterday, and we sketched together in the garden.

 



I tried to catch the effect of the dappled light in my quick portrait:


It finally looks like we are going to have a period of dry and sunny weather. Now all I need is a little energy to profit from it.

New sketchbook

I got a new A4 landscape watercolour sketchbook today. This will be my summer holiday journal.



Too much talking and not enough concentration while I was working on this, but I like how the textiles turned out with multiple layers of applied paint and pencil.

Lapdog

Just a quick sketch in my smaller watercolour sketchbook tonight. Tomorrow I will go to town and buy a large one.

I worked the paint more dry in this for a change. Very limited colour palette - mostly yellow ochre and raw siena, with a little burnt umber and touches of cadmium red, payne's grey and cerulean. Rose, burnt umber and cold dark grey watercolour pencil for accents.

Late night Skyrim

Sketching the other daughter at the PlayStation for once. It got quite dark and I ended up overworking the face.

The scanner had trouble picking up the details in this.
